i-tec USB 3.0 Metal HUB 3 Port with Audio Adapter combines the functions of 3-port USB 3.0 HUB with the audio adapter.
It offers three USB 3.0 ports with Plug & Play option. The USB 3.0 interface is important mainly for data transfers from USB 3.0 memory cards and flash disks which will use its high transfer speed most. HUB is powered from the USB bus and has a built-in surge protection for your computer in the event of a short circuit on the peripheral devices. The interface is backward compatible with USB 2.0. You will just connect the HUB by the USB cable to your computer and immediately you can start using it. It is an ideal companion for everybody who does not have enough USB ports in his/her notebook, ultrabook or PC and who has to constantly connect and disconnect his/her favorite USB equipment such as flash disks, mobile phones, tablets, digital cameras, MP3 players, printers, etc.
Audio Adapter provides the user computer with an output for headphones/loudspeakers (STEREO) and input for microphone (MONO) e.g., for listening to music or for Skype communication, etc.
The USB port will ensure the full function of the adapter and no external power adapter is necessary.

Question: I would like to charge Apple device (iPad, iPhone, iPod) in OS Windows over the USB 3.0 / 2.0 port. Is there any software option to solve this problem?
Answer: Standard charging is solved via the supplied AC adapter for Apple device. Nevertheless, by ASUS company was developed the „ASUS Ai Charger“ software for working and simultaneously charging of Apple device over the USB port of notebook / PC, over the plugged HUB or docking station in Windows OS. More information can be found here: http://event.asus.com/mb/2010/ai_charger/, where you can download and test the software. In spite of many positive experiences with the using of this software, we cannot guarantee 100% effectivity in all possible hardware combinations.
Question: My computer cannot detect the device, or the HUBs function is limited.
