Docking stations and Video adapters with DisplayLink do not work in the macOS 10.13.4.

Products with external video support, based on DisplayLink no longer work on macOS 10.13.4 (mainly Docking stations and video adapters). All products, including i-tec, are affected.
  • Although DisplayLink is working hard to find a fix to the current situation, there is no forecasted date of the update release of their driver.
  • This issue is strictly limited to Mac users, does not affect Windows, Chrome OS, Ubuntu or Android operating systems.
  • We recommend all MacOS users not to update to 10.13.4. Once the update is done, the DisplayLink connected displays to go blank after the OS upgrade, with the current DisplayLink driver [4.1] installed. (Functionality such as Ethernet and audio, where implemented, will not be affected). All DisplayLink features continue to work as expected in 10.13.3.
  • We strongly recommend to stay on 10.13.3 and not to upgrade to 10.13.4. You may disable automatic update to 10.13.4, by unchecking the two highlighted boxes (see below).
(You may find the settings in your MacOS in “System Preferences” --> “App Store”)   If you have already made the upgrade, here you may find some options, which may help you to get the DL running again: DisplayLink is currently working towards a solution that will restore full functionality to affected products for Mac OS users. In the meantime, an interim solution has been introduced, a Beta driver (4.3. beta 4), allowing the use of a single Full HD external display. Although this is not the final solution, it does provide users of affected docking stations and video adapters, with essential functionality. For further information on how to connect to the external display, please refer to the following tutorial:                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  The third developer preview of 10.14 has changed behaviour. Displays using DisplayLink technology will be present in System Preferences - Display. The displays can be activated, and the mouse is visible, but otherwise the displays are black. Should you have already installed that OS version, simply use DisplayLink driver V4.3 beta 6 to force the AirPlay interim whilst the work continues. We do not recommend using that OS version for extended desktop changes as it brings no benefit compared to previous versions.
  • We will update you as soon as we learn any news from either Apple or DisplayLink.
